Program Overview

The Agriculture Department provides students with a great beginning to a challenging career. The Associate of Arts degree is for academic students who attend CSI for the first two years and plan to continue at a four-year college/university to complete a bachelor’s degree program later.

Admission Requirements

There are specific requirements for enrollment in our career technical programs.  Students should be familiar with demands of a particular occupation and how that occupation matches with their individual career interests and goals. The specific requirements are established by the technical program.  A student who does not meet the established requirements for entrance into a program will have an opportunity to participate in the appropriate level courses to improve their skills for program consideration.  The program requirements and admission procedures can be obtained by contacting the program advisor.

Program Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Agriculture program, a student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a practical knowledge and understanding of production agriculture and supporting industries, and identify challenges impacting agricultural producers and agribusinesses.
  2. Identify and apply basic economic and marketing principles and strategies used in farm and agribusiness applications.
  3. Discuss agricultural, biological, and technical systems and their relationship to agribusiness decision-making.
