Multiple skills are learned to care for animals

Admission Steps

Students must apply and be accepted into CSI before applying to the Veterinary Technology program.

Admission begins on January 1st for the Fall Semester. Applications are evaluated on a first-come basis.

To apply to the Veterinary Technology program, students must:

  1. Potential students are required to complete 16 hours of observation with a veterinarian at any clinic of the student's choice. There is no specific paperwork or agenda that must be completed during this time. These hours are designed to give students an understanding of what the profession involves.

  2. Complete a Veterinary Technology Program Application. In addition to general contact information, this application requires a 500-word essay and the contact information for the location where the applicant completed their 16 hours of observation.
  3. Obtain three letters of reference. Common sources for reference are teachers, counselors, co-workers, coaches, etc. The program strongly discourages references from family members.
  4. Submit unofficial transcripts. Students should submit both high school and college transcripts.
  5. Submit SAT or ACT scores.

Students who have passed MATH 143 and ENGL 101 may submit unofficial transcripts in lieu of placement scores.
  6. Complete an interview. Students will be contacted in regards to their interview after an application has been submitted.
