Alternative Credit
Your knowledge and experience may count toward your degree. CSI students may be eligible to earn college credit through approved examinations, course challenges, military training, work experience, or other prior learning.
How to request alternative credit
1. Apply and enroll at CSI
You must be accepted and enrolled as a CSI student before alternative credit can be awarded.
2. Explore your credit options
Review the available examination, course challenge, and prior-learning options to determine which one fits your experience.
3. Check eligible courses
Use the Alternative Credit section of the current CSI catalog to confirm eligible courses and requirements.
4. Complete the request form and submit payment
Fill out the Alternative Credit Request Form, provide all required information and documentation, and submit the required payment.
5. Send official examination results
If your request is based on an examination, have the official scores sent directly to the CSI Registrar’s Office.
6. Wait for the evaluation
The Registrar’s Office will review your materials, verify applicable dates, and determine whether credit can be awarded.
Important
Submitting a request or examination results does not guarantee that credit will be awarded. All alternative credit must meet current CSI requirements.
