CSI Hosts Energy Days October 25th and 26th

Release Date: Monday 2023-10-23

Twin Falls, ID – Idaho National Laboratory presents Energy Days, a two-day event focusing on engaging local students and community members with the advanced energy industry. Energy Days will take place October 25th and 26th at the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) campus in Twin Falls. Those in attendance will engage with industry leaders to learn about internships and career pathways, along with some of the major projects that are going on at the Idaho National Laboratory.

The event is slated to begin at 1:00 pm Wednesday with a welcome from CSI President Dr. L. Dean Fisher. “The College of Southern Idaho is excited to have the Idaho National Lab on campus,” noted Fisher. “This event will provide a great opportunity for our faculty, staff, and students to learn more about career opportunities in the nuclear sector and at the Idaho National Lab.”

The day will conclude with a free screening of Oliver Stone’s new movie: “Nuclear Now” at 5:45pm, in the CSI Fine Arts Theatre. The film is based on Professor Joshua S. Goldstein’s book, “A Bright Future,” which makes the case for nuclear power as a safe, low-emissions energy solution in the face of climate change. Seating is limited for this viewing.

Thursday morning starts with a community breakfast at the CSI Taylor Cafe, where those in attendance will hear from the Directors of the Idaho National Laboratory and Idaho Environmental Coalition. Guests in attendance will be able to interact with these leaders in their industries.
