Release Date: Friday 2022-04-15

The College of Southern Idaho Foundation is pleased to announce that Intermountain Healthcare recently donated $30,000 to the CSI Foundation in support of student scholarships to promote diversity in the healthcare workforce.

“At Intermountain Healthcare, we are pleased to partner with our friends at CSI to create opportunities for people in our community to pursue a meaningful career in healthcare. We hope many in the community will take advantage of these funds that have been made available,” says Benjamin Smalley, CEO/Administrator of Cassia Regional Hospital, a member of the Intermountain Healthcare system.

Dr. L. Dean Fisher, President of the College of Southern Idaho, shared his support noting that “there is a clear and ongoing need for healthcare workers throughout the Magic Valley, and this support from Intermountain Healthcare will be integral to helping the College meet that need.” Intermountain Healthcare states that their mission of “helping people live the healthiest lives possible” is best achieved through collaboration with key community partners like CSI and believes that this donation will ultimately improve access to healthcare services.

The scholarships funded by the donation will be awarded by the CSI Financial Aid Office in partnership with the CSI Foundation. While students from the Mini-Cassia area who are pursuing educational opportunities in nursing will be prioritized in the award process, all healthcare students may apply through the CSI General Scholarship Application to be considered for the funds.
