Please see the following from the State Fire Marshal:
Pursuant to Idaho Code 41-253, 41-254, 41-255, and 41-257, the State Fire Marshal has the statutory authority to adopt, apply, and enforce the provisions of the adopted fire code as the authority having jurisdiction on state owned property and serve as the chief arson investigator for the entire state of Idaho. Although these fire incidents may not involve a crime, they must be reported and investigated by this office.
Therefore, all fires occurring on state property or involving state owned equipment, including vehicles or other equipment, shall be reported to the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office immediately. Regardless of local fire service response and investigation, this office shall be notified.
To stay in compliance with Idaho code, we ask that you notify Campus Safety either by phone or Maxient (Report a Concern) immediately if any type of fire may occur.
