Student Orientation, Advising & Registration

New Student Orientation at CSI

Orientation is required for all admitted students seeking a certificate or degree at the College of Southern Idaho. Our orientation is normally a face to face program, but due to social distancing guidelines imposed due to COVID-19, we are offering all students our online version, eSOAR. We hope to be able to offer campus SOAR events starting in August if conditions allow. Our orientation program is designed to introduce you to the essential tools for success at the College of Southern Idaho. During the course you will:

• Engage with other new students and CSI Orientation Leaders in discussion boards
• Learn to use CSI's online tools
• Learn your student responsibilities
• Learn about important policies and procedures
• Learn student success tips
• Learn about paying for college
• Learn how to register online for CSI classes
“eSOAR was easy to navigate and full of useful information that I wouldn’t have gotten otherwise.”
“I was a pro at Canvas (CSI's learning management system) after completing eSOAR, that made taking online classes so much easier for me.”

Am I Ready for eSOAR?

Once you’ve applied and been accepted to CSI, there are a few simple steps to follow:

1) Submit qualifying placement information. CSI accepts SAT and ACT scores within the last 3 years and college coursework. We also offer online placement assessments for those who need it.
2) Contact the Advising Center to make an appointment for a video call (Zoom), phone call, or in-person session with an advisor. Email or call 208-732-6250.
3) Register for classes.
4) Complete SOAR, online or in-person.
