Admission Steps

The Network Systems Technician program is a two-year degree that picks up after the completion of the Computer Support Technician Intermediate Technical Certificate (ITC). The coursework for this program places more emphasis on computer hardware, CISCO networking, and servers.
  1. Apply to CSI and become a Golden Eagle: Fill out the free online form to Apply to CSI, then watch your email for your acceptance letter and instructions to get set up as a new student. 

  2. Prepare to enter the Network Systems Technician program: Watch the linked video for important information about the program.

  3. Prepare for Registration: Make an appointment with an Enrollment Specialist to declare your major and get registration clearance.

  4. This program starts in the fall semester. Although there are a few classes students can take online, most of the coursework is in-person with a classroom setting.

  5. Prior Certification: Students who have a current CompTIA A+ certification can purchase the credits for CISS 107-Computer Essentials and CISS 110 & Lab-Troubleshooting the PC.

  6. Keep Learning!: The Cybersecurity and ProgrammingComputer Support Technician, and Network Systems Technician programs all work together to promote and encourage students to be well-rounded IT professionals.

Post-Acceptance Steps

Once you have been accepted into the Network Systems Technician program, you need to meet regularly with an academic advisor. Regular meetings with your advisor are essential to staying on track for graduation. Advisors help students select appropriate courses, understand program requirements, and plan a sequence that aligns with their goals and timelines.
