Career and Technical Education

At CSI, we offer more than 45 Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. These programs include 1 semester, 2 semester, and 3 semester certificate options, as well as 2-year AAS degrees. CTE education is essential because it equips students with practical skills and knowledge directly aligned with workforce needs, fostering economic growth and individual career success.

By integrating academic instruction with hands-on, industry-relevant training, CTE at CSI prepares learners for high-demand careers in fields such as healthcare, technology, skilled trades, education, and business. It also offers a pathway for students to explore and develop their interests while building employability skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability. CTE programs at CSI collaborate with industry partners, ensuring that students are trained with the latest tools and techniques, making them job-ready upon graduation.

Important update for CSI students

A new federal rule that started on July 11, 2025, says that only U.S. citizens, U.S. non-citizen nationals, and certain legally approved immigrants can take specific CSI classes.

What do I need to do?

  1. Schedule a meeting with a CSI Enrollment Specialist or any off-campus center
  2. Bring one of the following documents to your meeting to show your eligibility:
    • U.S. Passport
    • U.S. Birth Certificate
    • REAL ID-compliant ID card (also called a “STAR Card” Driver’s License)
    • DHS SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) ID document
    • Other DHS paperwork showing immigration status

  3. Once you’re verified, you’re all set! No other steps are needed.

Note: CSI staff will not keep, copy, or collect your documents. They will just look at them and mark your record as verified.

Many of the CTE programs at CSI have competitive or limited enrollment, which means there may be additional steps or requirements to complete your application. It is best to meet with an advisor of the program as soon as you know you are interested.
